I’m thankful for the good weather today. I’m thankful, today, to have the amount of control I have at my job which implies a certain level of trust (and I’m thankful to be trusted). I’m thankful for rice paper rolls. I’m thankful for the party I went to on the weekend that I was dreading because that is my routine each time I have to do something social: complaining to myself about how annoying and awful it will be to leave the house while getting ready, then getting there and having a great time and being glad I went. I’m thankful for new friends. I’m thankful for when you lose sleep but are glad to lose it. I’m thankful that today the very difficult class I teach was less difficult than usual.
I’m thankful for the taste of cold Earl grey. I’m thankful for when my senior students see me teaching junior classes and make gentle fun of the junior students and I. I’m thankful for antibiotics.
I’m thankful recently for all the poetry I’ve been reading and I’m thankful for this love poem by Bill Knott (I’m thankful that my favourite genre [?] of poems are love poems because I’m a basic bitch):
